North Star Basecamp

Embark on your strategic planning journey

North Star Basecamp was designed for MDC’s Chief Strategy Officers
and executives leading their strategic planning journeys.

North Star Basecamp was held August 5, from 11 am to 4 pm CST, in Chicago immediately prior to MDC’s 2024 Summer Owner Meeting! Basecamp served as the initial marker in moving our project forward.

During Basecamp, we explored the guiding principles and methodologies that set the foundation for our learning and growth around strategic planning.

For example, we explored:

  • The scale of maturity for the Top 10 dimensions of strategic health
  • Multiple ownership models for strategy within your team, including how to best engage your Board of Directors and your leadership team into your strategic planning efforts
  • How to efficiently and effectively navigate through key strategic decisions in a way that fosters alignment and buy in
  • Collaboration and ideation in small groups to share our paths toward increased alignment, communication, and management of strategic projects

This was not a one-time event—this was the beginning of a revolutionary cohort of dedicated strategic planning professionals together on a journey from vision to action.

Build actionable takeaways for your team to use immediately while also laying the foundation for further maturity, depth, and additional tools in our two-day North Star Expedition this fall! (See details below.)
